4 months.

Four. That's the number of tiny feet that kicked me for 9 months. Those same four feet that now fill my lap. We also have four small hands to hold and four beautiful eyes to stare at. Why are we so obsessed with the number four? Because today we are four months old!

So very hard to believe that four months have passed since we brought Ella & Sydney into the world.  They've been the fastest, hardest, and most amazing four months of our lives.  The girls are now smiling up a storm!  They smile when you talk to them.  Sydney loves it when you say "COOKIE MONSTER!" and Ella can't stand herself when you sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider".  We're also starting to get a few real giggles from them, and it's so awesome.  Ella is 11 lbs 2 oz and Sydney is 9 lbs 12 oz.  Tiny but full of personality.  They are now -very intentionally- holding hands.  They love to grab each others hands and hold on tight.  They still hate tummy time, and we don't enforce it much because we are just trying to get through each day alive!  They still love to be outside, and we've recently purchased a jogging stroller and try to get them out on walks.  They love the pool and bath time, and I hope they continue to be water babies!  They are starting to stay awake more - especially after Daniel brings them home from daycare until it's time for bed.  Our favorite time of day is after their last bottle and before we swaddle them up for the night.  We put them in one crib and they grin, giggle, hold hands, and scoot a little.  It's amazing.  Every night at this time, my cheeks hurt for smiling so much.  We are so, so, so lucky.  We try not to take for granted how fortunate we are - despite middle of the night feedings, 15 paci-pop-ins in the middle of the night, exhaustion, and just surviving.  We try to look at the girls every day and remind ourselves how lucky we are.  It's amazing to me that my heart hasn't burst yet <3
