Easter 2018

Holidays are so much fun now.  I mean, so.much.fun.  Hunting for Easter Eggs is one of the most fun activities to witness.  This year, the girls loved finding eggs, shouting about the egg they found, and looking at what's inside.

We kicked off our Easter Egg Hunting season with a little gathering in my parent's neighborhood.

"Hi goat!"
We were able to sneak in a quick visit with the Easter Bunny and.. surprisingly... they did great!  Totally unlike Santa, which is mind blowing since the Easter Bunny is.. umm... creepy.

**side note: yesterday morning when we were getting ready, Ella started to fuss and said "I want to wear my red dress and tights and go see Santa."  You've got a few months to wait, kid.

Waiting for the egg hunt to start
I don't have any pictures of them actually finding eggs, but they squealed and loved it.  They especially loved the tiny toys in the eggs, and spent the rest of the day obsessing over the little erasers and rings.  When Nana walked up to see, they chatted her ear off on the walk home.  It was SO cute.
We always host Easter for my family.  The morning of our Easter celebration, we dyed eggs... and much to my surprise, wasn't a disaster.
such happy girls <3

checking out their hard work

reading some new books they got for their birthday

As a twin mom, I often feel guilty that when it's time to read books, the girls don't get to just plop in my lap and enjoy.  They always have to share that space with someone else... and you know, sometimes you just don't want to feel like sharing.  Anyway, this is how we had to read books - they got to switch off who got the "middle" and used my leg as a pillow.

after a good nap and ready for Egg Hunt #2 with cousins!

Every time Ella found an egg that was glittery she would shout "LIKE MY SPARKLY SHOES!!!"
She loves those daggone sparkly shoes, and Easter eggs that match!

after this photo, Abby let go of Clara and she fell flat on her face in the dirt

Daniel and I had fun filling the eggs up, and most of them were stuffed with coins

After we cleaned up from a delicious meal, we sent the kiddos off to bed and the Easter Bunny came.
P.S. I fixed up the cutest little "kids table" in the kitchen, while the adults ate in the dining room.  That was the first time they've all gotten to do that!  So crazy to think how quickly time flies.
The Easter Bunny brought all sorts of fun garden accessories

Excited for their "very hungry caterpillar" tacky garden ornament

I loved that we didn't have to be at Daniel's mom's house until after nap time.  We spent the morning doing our normal Sunday morning routine, and relaxed.  The girls spent a while in the "biiiig bath tub" and painted.  Ella got her first real pony tail!

Who needs to paint the side of the tub when you can paint your sister

Yep, that's the exact same outfit as the day before.  It was too adorable not to wear again!

Their favorite girl!

Sweet Syd was sharing her eggs with Ella

it got a little too crazy in the house, and since the weather was so gorgeous, Momma took the girls out front to twirl while Daddy ate his dinner
As always, we love our sweet little bunnies and all of the fun and excitement that holidays bring.  It's bittersweet to think they were 6 days new on their first Easter and were wearing preemie clothes, and now they are twirling and giggling like little girls.  What a fun adventure we're on!
