2014 - a new year full of bright beginnings

To say that December 2013 was crappy is an understatement to say the least.  We lost a baby that we wanted so badly.  But, throughout the heartbreaking news and days that followed, surgery, and physical recovery... we were filled with an outpouring of support.  We continue to be amazed at how much everyone loves us.  I have a very long list of thank-you notes to write, and for that we are so incredibly lucky.  We will never be able to repay everyone for their generosity. 

So we've had an awful lot of tough moments, and Christmas was a sad holiday for us.  We made the best of it.  Sometimes I think it's cruel to have something so heartbreaking happen at the "happiest time of year".  But, the silver lining is that right after Christmas is New Years, and the new year always brings with it a promise of a new beginning, and a new book to write.  I've been filled with an overwhelming sense that this year will bring lots of happy things - weddings, graduations, lots of laughing and good memories, and hopefully a baby with a round head :)
