3.30.2016

It's a big deal.  Keeping two humans alive for one whole year is a big deal.  So we took off work, kept the girls home from daycare, and spent the whole day doing all of their favorite things and patting ourselves on the back.  I documented the entire day... excessively.  So this post will be a picture-story.  Read this earlier sappy post if you'd rather read a chapter book.

Roll it:

good morning birthday girls!!  Sydney is ready to party and Ella would rather pout
Favorite thing #1: A BATH!  Girlfriends love a bath.  I love that this is how our bath times start: undress babies in their room, go into bathroom to start water and say "come on in here" and they come crawling!  (I'm lazy and would rather not move more than necessary.)
I love Sydney's look of pure joy that she's about to get a bath

getting attacked by a line of babies

let's go!  now!

hahaha... I wasn't lying when I said they love a bath, and cookie monster
Favorite thing #2: A NAP!  Well, that's daddy and momma's favorite thing, so we had to sneak in a couple of them.

They slept through their birthday time.  9:57am for sweet Baby A, Ella, and 9:58am for sweet Baby B, Sydney.  Love that these sweet girls sometimes sleep the same.

We got loads of birthday wishes!  Lots of fun texts, phone calls, social media comments, and snapchats from our fave!
oh heyyyy Harrison!
Favorite thing #3: Mexican for lunch.  Not really, just another one of daddy and momma's favorite things.
the girls were so thrilled to be alive for one year, they celebrated with a margarita!  what an accomplishment

only kidding, don't call CPS - momma celebrated with a marg!
Favorite Thing #4: swinging at the park!
Sydney loves to swing!  She was babbling and carrying on

and Daddy took her for quite the ride... the daredevil loved it

Ella laughed so hard as soon as we set her in the swing

Favorite thing #5: grocery shopping!  Only kind of... we found a DOUBLE CART (which is a rare treat!).  We got the girls balloons, because every baby needs to have fun balloons on their big day.  Then we stopped over to get big cupcakes for dessert, and a few birthday party supplies (ie booze).
so happy sitting in a cart side-by-side with awesome balloons

Favorite thing #6: snuggling with momma when the afternoon nap wasn't quite long enough

happy girl, Ella, with momma after a nap

Favorite thing #7: a wagon ride.  These ladies almost can't contain themselves when you pull them in their wed wagon.  With Kim and Jeff, nonetheless.

in front of pretty flowers!  we took a very similar picture last April on one of our very first walks

this is why you give babies birthday balloons
Least Favorite thing #8: when mom makes us take too many pictures
Favorite thing #9: not pictured: hummus for dinner!  That's currently their favorite food.
Favorite thing #10: "happy birthday", family coming over for pizza, and big cupcakes for dessert.
Ella could care less about "happy birthday".  I was just thankful they left the candle flame alone.
Cute incessant amounts of cute, messy pictures.

it's kind of hard to tell, but ELLA WAS IN HEAVEN

<3

Sydney on the other hand was a little unsure of her cupcake, and preferred destroying it over eating it

get this mess off my hands
