#sinksinthesand2020 part I

Despite a spring of being stuck at home, we all decided that our planned beach vacation with the Sink family would still happen.  We all really needed a change of scenery, and to be honest... when we go to the beach, we really don't go anywhere anyways.  So we planned out our meals carefully, brought all of the groceries we could, and headed down to Nags Head for a week of fun.  We had no idea how much we needed that break until we got down there... so thankful we decided to still go!

a bit chilly and overcast, but we made it!

Night #1... kiddos in bed
The first few days it rained and rained and rained!  So we pretty much hung out inside, played games, watched TV, and ate way too much food!
a break in the rain, headed out to the balcony in pjs to check out the ocean

Ella stayed attached to Kinley for the whole week!  She's never really paid attention to babies until now.  She loved holding her, making her a "comfy bed" to lay in, and rocking her.

It was FREEZING, but the kiddos went for a swim before getting in the hot tub.

and a bubble bath in Grandma's bathroom!

One of Ella's beds for Kinley... complete with plenty of blankets/pillows, a book, and Violet

We needed a break from the house ;) so we got on jackets and headed out to the beach for a walk

And then the sun came out!  And we had really fun days at the beach

we stayed up late and went crab hunting!

early walk with Momma and Daddy to find shells

One of my most favorite memories is that they would find shells and say "I can hear the ocean!!" and would hold it up for each other to listen

Ella made homes for hermit crabs and took one for a "walk"

I cannot handle how sweet this little mermaid is!!

Family Vacay 2020

...and that's a wrap!  We REALLY enjoyed the break, and although we do love spending time with our families, we need some "us" time, so we decided to book a vacation for just the four of us at the end of the summer :)
