#sinksinthesand2019 Part II

In 2018, we had the most perfect vacation of all time.  Seriously, it's still seared into my brain with the most perfect memories.  The weather, our daughters, our time as a little family of four.  So amazing.  We instantly knew that we'd have to do it again, and went on the search for another beach house.  We liked the house we were in, except it was a tad bit dated with sorta uncomfortable mattresses.  We landed on an oceanfront pink house call the Lone Star.  This trip was also unforgettable and wonderful, but the weather wasn't quite as cooperative :)  A few days into our trip, a Nor'Easter hung out offshore, which made for windy and rainy weather.  But - who cares - we were not working, on vacation, and spending time together.

Also, are you surprised it's taken me 5 months to update this?

we made it!

there was the most adorable little path from our stairs to the ocean

silly syd

picture perfect

we kicked off our first full day with a morning wave at the ocean

and headed for Duck Donuts

the girls were pumped for Halloween themed donuts

gotta soak up those sweet snuggles while I can

that was the theme for the week!

I never want to forget those sweet little footprints

we let them watch an early morning movie, so we could sneak out and drink coffee oceanside

Ella's FAVORITE activity.... hopping over waves

they had their its bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini

Momma and her sweeties

Syd's turn

There's no place I'd rather be, than right next to you beside the sea
We went straight from the beach to ice cream for lunch

I caught them feeding each other ice cream and it was adorable, and also, their beachy beautiful curly hair was amazing

we visited a friend, who thankfully had a hot tub!

of course this momma is crazy, and thought these pretty green dresses would make for awesome beach pictures

allllll the heart eyes, these two

the clouds rolled in and all the inside crafts came out

scrubby pets

and momma-made manicures

we went to a super fun place for dinner called the Jolly Roger - it was decorated for Halloween (which the girls are currently obsessed with Halloween)
We looked up indoor activities and found a trampoline park that had toddler time... it was perfect!
so.much.fun!

We didn't get a ton of pictures because..... two four year olds at a trampoline park.... but we had a blast!  Definitely a highlight of our trip (and a huge deal for me, because I've always been anti-trampolines.  Spoiler alert: Santa delivered one for Christmas ;) )
the rain cleared up long enough for us to brave the winds for a walk

we went out to run some errands/shop, and I looked over while we were in a store to this sight - what a hoot!

this photo sums up our week - WIND!
And when I say windy.... I mean, holy shit.  I think it's as close to being in a hurricane while oceanfront at the beach that I'll ever get.
we all snuggled up and watched Hocus Pocus for the first time

with their new hair extensions

the sound side of our house had the most stunning sunsets (when it wasn't covered up by clouds)

headed out for a walk...

we found water, and they couldn't resist

soaking up some sunshine with my boo

kisses for daddy

E&S putt putt for the first time
And the night before we headed back home, we came out with flashlights to search for crabs and bid the ocean adieu
Daddy was telling scary stories

that had a funny ending!

searching for crabs

and that's a wrap!
So despite our weather not being perfect, it was still really wonderful :)  Daniel and I still need to figure out our Fall 2020 trip, since our sweet babes will be in Kindergarten - ahh!  Enjoy our video recap:
