Blakely Elizabeth Fields

We have a brand new niece!
7 lbs 2 oz
19.5" long
5:45(ish) in the afternoon

not too long after she arrived Jarrett sent us this gorgeous picture
Since she was born a little bit later in the day, and we knew that a short, quiet, and calm visit was necessary, Daniel and I snuck away for dinner and a hospital visit without the tiny tots.

The next day, we made 10000% sure it was okay to take these crazy girls, and took them for a loud 15 minute visit (Sorry Blakely... and Annabeth!)
I may be little, but I'm (going to be) a big cousin!

Eight

Last week we celebrated eight fantastic years.  Much of our time is spent laughing, silently cursing each other, and being very tired.

The biggest feeling that comes to mind when looking back on our wedding day is this: I knew our life together would be good and awesome and filled to the brim with memories, but I never realized how amazing it would be.  Sure, it's also hard... I mean, so hard.  But I never imagined us with twin girls, and knowing how much happiness they bring into our lives.  Having twins isn't easy, but we are in this shit together, which makes it the very best.
Look at those babies!
So happy and so in love

And here we are!
So happy and so in love

We dropped the girls off at Grandma Georgia's and splurged on a fancy dinner at the Boathouse.  Look at that view!

Blacksburg Weekend

We headed out west for our annual trip to Blacksburg to visit Uncle Mop, hang out on campus, and cheer on the Hokies.  And of course, it didn't disappoint.

that's it... my favorite sign

gorgeous sunset heading into town
So we have a new favorite thing... and it's called the Hokie bird.  This Hokie-heart is overflowing, that my girls love the Hokie bird so much.  When we went to Kings Dominion in the Spring, they were terrified, and now things have drastically changed.  A few night's before our trip, they were up at 1am talking about the dang Hokie bird!  After dinner, we found a Hokie bird statue nearby and the girls freaked out.  Laughing, squealing, hugging, and kissing!
Ella is one happy girl

Hokie bird kisses from Sydney

We made it back to Motel-MacInnis, and got a good night's rest before visiting Admissions and hanging out on campus.  Another day, another Hokie bird, more happy girls.

shaking his hands
They also had so much fun running up and down the halls of Admissions, and sitting in Mildred's chair.

Next up: playing on the drillfield.

kisses for Uncle Mop
After we had pizza with all the MacInnis' (including Ian + his clan), we went to the Rawlings' for s'mores.  Their view is to-die-for.  We watched the most gorgeous sunset and there were even cows back there moo-ing.  Such a perfect place to be <3

Grayson and Luke had sooo much fun with the twins

morning snuggles with Daddy.. and the two of them didn't stop holding hands
It's Game Day!
I can't say how lucky we are that we have folks that love our girls so much, even far away.  They had a blast with Kim & Brian, so Daniel and I could cheer on the Hokies <3

tailgating with our favorite Hokie neighbors

went on a walk with Kim, Brian, and Alice - and Brian was running for his life from those two little monsters!

Here's a rock, sissy.
